Stars at the Grammy Awards tend to go be on the wilder side when they hit the red carpet. Part of the excitement of the big night is that you can count on at least of Hollywood's celebrities to wear what looks more like an outrageous costume than an elegant evening gown. In other words, fashion for the Grammys tends to be more theater than reality.
But Sunday night dished up exceptions.  I actually found a trace of reality on the red carpet.  In fact, several styles from my Spring Collection actually let you Get the Red Carpet Look  straight from the 2014 Grammy Awards.  And that's something to sing about!

Look Like a Star

Fantasia Barrino stepped on the red carpet in a head-turning black lace gown with short sleeves with a surprise pop of red at the halter neckline.  You can get the same designer evening gown look.  Just shop our SC7092, our super sexy black lace gown with sheer lace illusion skirt layered over a mini sheath. Paula Patton knows it's a fashion jungle on the red-carpet.  She got spotted Sunday night wearing a striking zebra-striped evening dress with stunning long sleeves.  If you're hunting for a trendy formal in updated animal prints, stalk these new designs I created for Spring 2014.  You create a fashion roar!

  1. Style SC7144, one-shoulder flowing chiffon formal with abstract animal print in bronze on white. Stoned strap adds Hollywood glitz.
  2. Style TE1464, bestselling metallic chiffon evening gown for Spring 2014 in dramatic black and gold animal print.
  3. Style TE1466, sexy high-low chiffon dress lined with red and black zebra stripes offers a color combination never seen in the wild.

Nadeea Volianova, electric artist, sparked electricity when she slipped on a baby blue high-low dress with a floral sequin studded strapless bodice. (Could have done without the lace up knee high boots!). High-low hemlines give you the best of both worlds:  the sophistication of a long skirt and the flirty look of cocktail dress. Just take at look at Sydney's Closet Style SC5030, an off-white strapless chiffon with a beaded belt.  It's a favorite of brides for informal weddings on a beach, at a garden, in City Hall or on a cruise.

Anna Faris looked sleek and chic in a navy blue curve hugging sheath.  I love navy as an alternative to black.  The deep dark hue remains timeless and elegant. That's why I opted to use a rich navy chiffon overlay for Spring 2014 for navy on SC7121.  The classic design is ideal for a sophisticated Prom dress, military ball or wear it to a black tie wedding to be the best dressed guest.

Sharon Osbourne showed us black is back but with a flair. You had to be thrilled to see this celebrity looking va-va voom in a black gown. I couldn't help see several of the same design concepts I used for our new evening gown, TE1469. Compare the two gowns and discover sleeves and a sheer illusion overlay on bodice.  Osbourne's design had long sleeves.  I opted for cap sleeves and covered the waistband with dense multi-color stones.  For a fairy-tale look, the Sydneys design features a tulle A-line skirt. with a horsehair band at the bottom of the hem.
