Sydney's Closet Fashion Team is working more than 9 to 5 to get ready for our next plus size bridal shoot - even over the long Memorial Day weekend.  So much to do!  Ever wonder what it takes to pull off a two-day shoot? Get an instant  idea of the depth of detail needed to go on location.  Just check out this check list: 1)  Steam and press 25  weddings gowns.  We couldn't make that happen without a pulley system in our warehouse that lets us hoist up dresses that weigh up to five pounds.  Once off the ground it's easier to get underneath to steam the lining.  For the long trains on the formal gowns, we keep the dresses up on the pulley. Then we place the train on a powerful professional iron board with a buil- in steamer. It stills takes two people to move the yards and yards of fabric as to get out the wrinkles! 2) Label each gown with a style number.  We use a waterproof marker to write the number on a small piece of surgical tape that we put inside the back of each informal plus size wedding gown designed with destination weddings in mind. 3)  Shoot list.  You can never be too organized when you do a shoot, especially on location.  We can't do it without our shoot list. It's like our road map.  We'd be lost without it.  It tells us:

• order the dresses will be photographed
• details need special attention (think beading and belts)
• look to style accessories like shoes and jewelry

4)  Tackle box:  No, we're not fishing. But the box makes the perfect portable o tote all the odds and ends that could come in handy.  Here's a sampling of what we stash in the box:

• Safety pins
• Straight pins
• Sewing kit
• Wardrobe tape
• Nail file
• Small scissors
• Spot and stain remover
• Rubber bands
• Tums
• Tylenol
• Static cling spray
• Bandaids
• Nail polish remover
• Qtips

5)  Refreshments: It's a long and hot day shooting in St. Louis in June.  Everyone gets hot and thirty.   We'll bring two cases of water.  And plenty of energy boosting snacks: granola bars, apples, oranges, nuts and popcorn.   We'll have breakfast and lunch catered on the set. 6)  Portable racks: You can't just hang wedding dresses on any rack.  You need one that can hold the weight of a dozen dresses without bending or breaking.  Just to be safe, we'll bring three of our warehouse Z-racks on rollers so that they can be moved around the set.  We're confident they're sturdy enough.  We'll also pack metal hangers that are impossible to break under the weight of gowns that hit the scale at up to six pounds! 7)  Fans: We'll use portable fans behind-the-scenes to keep the model and wardrobe staff comfortable.  We'll use them on set to create wind that will blow the model's hair for a very natural look. 8)  Head to Toe Glamour : It takes much more than just a dress to create a bridal look.  We'll pack cases of  accessories:  wedding shoes, hair jewelry, belts, earrings, rings and necklaces.  Once on set, we'll spread them out on tables so they are just a reach away as we make the final styling decisions as to which accessories look best with which dress. 9)  Drinking straws: I'll let you in on a little trick.   Our models sip water through a straw to preserve their picture perfect lips.  That way they quench their thirst but don't mess up the gorgeous lips created by the makeup artist 10) Step Stool: We'll go to great heights to capture a shot especially the romantic long trains on our weddings gown. All the preparation will pay off starting tomorrow when we photograph the Spring 2015 Michelle Bridal Collection, our plus size wedding gowns sold only in fine bridal salons nationwide.  The next day we'll photograph Sydney's Closet  2015 Signature Collection of informal plus size wedding dresses that are available stores and online.
