Our How to Measure guide shows you how to measure correctly, it’s the best way to find your ideal fit!
If your measurements fall between sizes, we recommend sizing up. Dresses can usually be taken in, but they can’t always be let out.
Measuring yourself can be tricky, it’s hard to get an accurate reading on your own. It’s best to have a professional tailor or seamstress help, or enlist a friend or family member. You’ll be glad you did!
Formalwear often fits differently than everyday clothing. At Sydney’s Closet, we aim to keep our sizing as close to standard jean sizing as possible, but fit can vary by style and fabric.
No. Your bra size is not the same as your bust measurement. To find your bust size, measure around your back and across the fullest part of your bust. If you’re unsure, we recommend watching our How to Measure video for step-by-step guidance.
Use a soft, flexible cloth measuring tape, metal ones belong on construction sites, not your body!
Don't have a measuring tape? No problem! You can use a piece of string, ribbon, or even a charging cord. Wrap it around your body where you need to measure, mark the length, then lay it flat and measure it with a ruler, yardstick, or metal tape measure. Yes, the metal one gets a pass this time.
Probably. Most formalwear needs a little tweaking, as everyone’s body is unique, so a few alterations are normal. A little tailoring goes a long way toward the perfect fit!
