Whenever possible, we exchange merchandise for size, color or another style. Sydney's Closet offers free ground shipping to send you the exchange item(s).

All returns need a Return Authorization (RA) to be processed.

Follow the instructions on our returns & exchanges portal.

Check your merchandise carefully. We cannot accept merchandise that is: 

  • Missing original tags in the original position
  • Worn, torn, stained, soiled or damaged in any way
  • Missing accessories such as shawls or straps

Credits are issued for the total of your merchandise minus any sales tax, shipping and handling or rush fees.

Eligible Merchandise

We accept returns on most, but not all, merchandise. Exceptions include: Sale Merchandise, Special Orders, and Specialty Items such as shoes, bras, accessories and shapewear.

We have a Celebrations collection of fun and much less expensive dresses which are eligible for fully refundable returns or exchanges.

Shipping Your Return

We only accept boxes with RA numbers written on the outside. All others are subject to refusal and may be returned to sender.

Common Exchange & Return Questions

When should I request a RA?

All returns need a RA to be processed. You must get a RA within 5 (five) days of receiving your items.

When should I send my dress back?

Returns or exchanges must be postmarked within 7(seven) days of receving the RA. No exceptions! No exceptions!  Shipping costs for returns and exchanges are non-refundable. No CODs.

How do I do an exchange?

Follow the instructions on our returns & exchanges portal.

You will be able to shop for an exchange through the portal.

If the item is less than the subtotal of your original order, you will receive a store credit for the balance.

If the item is more than the subttoal of your original order, you will be able to pay the difference through the portal.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

The customer is responsible for the payment of the return shipping costs.

When processing your RA, you will have two options:

1) Use a provided USPS label with the fees deducted from your refund.

2) Provide your own shipping label using the carrie of your choice.

How should I return my items?

Items should be returned in the same condition in which they were received.

Check your return carefully. We cannot accept merchandise that is:
- missing original tags in the original position
- missing original bag and/or hanger
- worn, torn, stained, soiled, covered in hair
- damaged in any way
- missing accessories such as shawls or straps

Carefully hang and bag your gown on the hanger provided or fold your gown in the bag provided and ship your package.

Is there a restocking fee?

Exchanges - There is no restocking fee.

Returns - There is a restocking fee for all returns. The fee is based on the quantity of items returns and will be shown to when you are requesting your RA.

What is the return address?

If choose a provided USPS label, the address is preprinted for you.

How will I get my refund?

Credits to the payment method used for your purchase are issued for the total of your merchandise minus any discounts, sales tax, shipping, handling, rush fees or additional fees for items returned not in original condition with the original hang tag, bag or hanger provided. 

Please understand credit card companies and banks sometimes may take 7 (seven) or more days to credit your account.  

We want you to be happy! Whenever possible, we would love to exchange merchandise for size, color or perhaps another style.  If you are able to exchange your purchase for another item, Sydney's will pay the shipping to you.
