Stars with real curves stole the show at the 2014 American Music Awards hitting the red carpet in jaw-dropping evening dresses.   Here's a few of my faves from the big night held at the Nokia Theater in L.A.:

Just when I thought the actress and singer couldn't be any more gorgeous,  she hit a high note walking the red carpet in a bronze Halston Heritage gown.    Loved that she dared to take the plunge with the low-cut neckline in the strikingly simple sequin gown so reminiscent of the heyday of Hollywood.  And then Sparks iced the sexy statement with the super high slit in the skirt.  For true head-to-tie glam, Sparks slipped on black Dolce and Gabbana sandals and styled her hair in soft cascading waves.

Blige made a sensational fashion statement in an ink black evening gown with an eye-catching fringe bodice that hinted at the flapper influence of the 1920s.  Mark Zunino gets credit for Blige's anything but boring black formal gown that hugged all her curves in just the right places.  Her dramatic, short hair do added to the captivating red-carpet look.  

Meghan Trainor

It wasn't all about the bass when Trainor struck a pose on red carpet in a Little Black Dress that flattered her curves and fit her fabulous, fun Jordin Sparks/Getty Imagespersonality.   Adored the lace bodice with long sleeves and the box pleated skirt designed by Ted Baker.  Leave it to Trainor to pump up the party adding a red lip-shaped purse for a real punch of color!  She keep the look young letting her gorgeous blonde locks loose.  No fancy up-do for this songstress!

McKellar wowed the crowd when she arrived at the awards show wearing a body-conscious evening gown that showed off her slender figure. It was more about what you didn't see that made the design so sexy.  Gorgeous jade green  lace appliques were strategically placed over the nude chiffon.  The same lace decorated the hemline and the dramatic train, perfect for posing on the red carpet.  The jade highlighed McKellar's brunette's gorgeous long locks!
