What an honor to be invited to be on the panel of apparel professionals for the Career Networking Seminar at Stevens Institute of Business & Art in downtown St. Louis. I loved sharing my passion for fashion! The curious students asked about how I created Sydney's Closet, a niche clothing company catering exclusively to plus size women and teens shopping for dressy dresses for life's special occasions. So I shared with them the journey that took me from the pressure of daily deadlines as a newspaper reporter to a full-time focus on designing dresses. It was super fun getting to see the students personal sense of fashion. I even spotted one wearing a leopard jacket: this season's must-have animal print. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Ralph Lauren or Donna Karan came out of that class. Thanks to the faculty at SIBA for having me visit their school. [gallery ids="3116,3115,3114,3113,3110,3112"]
