The red carpet was full of bright colors during the 2015 Emmy Awards last Sunday. The 67th Emmy Awards Show produced by the Television Academy was hosted by the hilarious Andy Samberg who looked fabulous himself in Ermenegildo Zengna Couture. While checking out which TV shows were gaining the most popularity and recognition, our Fashion Team focused on, well, the fashion. We dove deep into the night's fashion trends as well as some noted take-away moments from the memorable evening. Viola Davis Winning best actress is a feat alone but Viola Davis has made her mark in the Emmy world. Davis is first woman of color to win an Emmy in the Outstanding Actress in a Drama category for her performance in "How to Get Away with Murder". Her acceptance speech ran wild on social media and we had to share it here.
Mindy Kaling From the famed show "The Mindy Project", Mindy Kaling looked stunning in her bright yellow curve-hugging, heavily embellished dress with short sleeves and a very long train by Salvador Perez. However, what has caught everyone's eye is her customized "Mindy" binged out purse by Edie Parker. Where can we get one?
Sarah Hyland Hyland looked stunning in her all wine gown Zac Posen. Her stylists deserves an award for best styling with her accessorizes and nails matching the curve-hugging sexy gown. We love that Hyland went for the sexy route but she kept it classy and classic!
Kathy Bates We loved seeing Kathy Bates on the red carpet and adore her acting but wish that she would have chosen another color and stayed away from the black. A royal blue or wine could would have been striking with her silver hair style. A black dress did not do her justice! Regardless, congratulations goes out to Bates on her nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in "American Horror Story: Freak Show".
OTHER LOOKS WE LOVED [su_carousel source="media: 9306,9305,9302,9299,9295" limit="30" width="540" height="280" responsive="no" pages="yes" mousewheel="no" autoplay="500" speed="2000"][su_carousel source="media: 8405,8404,8403,8402,8401,8399,8398" limit="14" link="custom" width="500" height="140" responsive="no" pages="yes" autoplay="500" speed="2000"][su_carousel source="media: 8405,8404,8403,8402,8401,8399,8398" limit="14" link="custom" width="400" height="160" responsive="no" pages="yes" autoplay="500" speed="2000"][/su_carousel]
Niecy Nash in Mark Zunino Retta in Jamie Elyse Emma Roberts in Jenny Packham Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell Aubrey Plaza in Alezxandre Vautheir Amy Schumer in Zac Posen Dascha Polanco in Leanne Marshall
Claire Danes Across the board, Claire Danes has been noted as one of the best dressed women from the 2015 Emmy award night. Donning a purple dress with heavily embellished chains, she stone the show on the red carpet. We love the back view! Designer Prada did an amazing job with this dress and who doesn't love jewelry from Cartier?
Taraji P. Henson Stepping out onto the red carpet in this Alexander Wang stunning black gown with a triangle cut out, Henson looked stunning. Nominated for her work on the show "Empire", Henson went with the classic black color but opted for a more edgy look. Is it just us or was there a trend?
Danielle Brooks We would love to know your opinion of the Christian Siriano made for Danielle Brooks from "Orange is the New Black" #OITNB! Did the parachute dress sail or fail? Our Fashion Team was on the fence about the dress but love her confidence and the way that she moved on the red carpet.
Porsha Williams Porscha made herself known on the red carpet as the Real Housewives of Atlanta star rocked the McDouggal prom gown for her big night. Should we consider the high low with heavy waist for a prom look in 2017? What about removing the bow on the waistband an working with tulle instead of a satin? Could it work for us? QUESTIONABLE STYLE Instead of going into details about the red carpet fashion mistakes, we thought we would just show you. There are not enough words to explain our opinion on these red carpet gowns. These stars need to talk to their stylists or maybe just find a new one. We just hope they don't come back as fashion must-haves next season!
