I love this time of year. Prom Princesses reach out to Sydneys Closet every day searching for 2015 plus size Prom dress tips. In my official role as "The Fairy Godmother of Plus Size Prom Gowns", I try to personally answer each and every question. Here's a three recent ones I wanted to share with you! Q: I hate my heavy arms but I don't want to wear a long-sleeve dress to Prom. I'll look sooo dorky! How do I pull off wearing a strapless dress ball gown? Help me! A: If you don't want to bare it all, shop for dresses that come with a matching shawl. Or consider buying a shawl separately in a coordinating color. Or sew one in a funky fabric for a real fashion statement. TIP: Moto jackets are all the rage this year. Top off your Prom dress wearing one a sleek black leather one. You won't regret that fashion forward choice. You'll wear the jacket again and again long after Prom is over.

Q: I have a super large chest that wants to pop out of every Prom dress I try on. I feel like nothings fit my body. What can I do? A: No need to apologize for being naturally endowed. The trick to finding a flattering Prom dress is starting with finding the right bra. None of your everyday bras will do for a night as special as Prom 2015. Special occasion dresses need special bras. It's time to bring in the Pros. Go to a bra shop or a department store where you can be fitted. (If you feel a little shy, remember you're not alone. Everyone does!) Trained sales staff have their eyes set on helping you find the right bra. Shop for a strapless design that gives you great lift, real support, natural cleavage and most of all comfort. If you want to play down your chest, look for a style designed to minimizes your chest. TIP: Off-the-shoulder design Prom dresses balance your chest. Halter designs add extra support and make for super sexy Prom gowns. Photo: "In the Spotlight" (SC7084) Q: Ugh! I have a really big stomach that I usually hide under t-shirts. Every Prom dress I've tried on either doesn't zip or makes a big bulge. What options do I have? A: Don't panic! I can help you solve your fashion crisis. A halter necklines draws attention away from tummy towards your face. Minimize your middle opting for a Prom dress in a flowing fabric like chiffon with an A-line skirt. Or stick with an Empire waistband designed without a waist for a super easy and so comfy fit. TIP: Stay away from styles fitted at the waistline. Consider wearing a body shaper with extra tummy control to smooth out your curves. Photo: "Nicole Evening Gown" (SC7147) Need more help.
