When & why did you start selling formal wear?
Michelle purchased a bridal store in 1983 and Named it Michelle's Bridal Shoppe. In the early 90's, she started offering some prom gowns. In 2002, she opened a "pop up" store in the local mall. In 2005 Bridal and Prom moved to our current location and M2 had it's own year round storefront!!
Name two things you would like future customers to know about your store.
1. Our goal at M2 is for each client to feel beautiful.
2. Dress shopping should be fun. Let us help, the M2 Crew will help make it an amazing experience.
What is unique about your store?
We are completely separate from our bridal department, which allows us to have a vibrant atmosphere. The M2 Crew loves working with our clients.
What do you love about Sydney's Closet?
We love that Sydney's Closet allows plus size to have their own unique dresses.
If you were to tell one person "Thank You" for helping you become the person you are today, who would it be and what did they do?
My Aunt Pattie, she was a small town farm girl who ended up in NYC. She opened my eyes up to all the possibilities in the world.
What characteristic do you most admire in your staff?
We admire that our staff is accepting of all girls and determined to make their prom dream come true!!
What trends are you noticing for prom this year?
- Floral is making a return
- Sparkle/shimmer fabric
Do you have a store "motto" - spoken or unspoken? If so, what is it?
For 2018 it was "Celebrate!" in honor of Michelle's Bridal Shoppe's 35th Anniversary. We have a set of Core Values, the most defining one is "Treat each customer as a guest in your home".
Which celebrity would you love to have walk into your store? Why?
Blake Lively. She has amazing style, doesn't take herself to seriously and hopefully she brings Ryan with her!!
What do you love about the 2019 Tease Prom Collection?
We love that Tease Prom is closely following trends, so plus size girls can have a quality, well fitting gown.

What has surprised you the most about the prom industry?
How quickly trends and popularity of designers change.
Tell us a funny story about an experience in your store.
So many funny things happen, but, we love to hide in dresses, come around corners fast to scare our fellow members of the M2 Crew!!
