- Behind the Scenes at Plus Size Dress Photo Shoot
Decades ago famed scribe Dorothy Parker made the legendary remark that “Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses”. Obviously, she never lived long enough to meet women who wear Warby Parker eyeglasses. The hot designer of affordable and chic glasses offers fashionable and unique styles that look when you dress for day – and night! We couldn’t resist pairing Warby Parker when we went on locations in Missouri's wine country just outside St. Louis, Missouri to shoot plus size dresses for Homecoming 2016, Prom 2017 and Spring 2017. Ordering Warby Parker glasses proved to be hassle-free. Our super stylist Lindsey just went to www.warbyparker.com and opted to use the Home Try-On Program. In a flash, Warby Parker shipped five frames to us and best of all they paid shipping both ways. You can get the same great deal. Check out how to order your loaners here! Lindsey shopped the Capsule Collection of Summer #SeeSummerBetter campaign! She spotted six new silhouettes and five new colors plus dozens of classic faves in new colors. So many choices of eye candy! But Lindsey, a real styling pro, narrowed it down to these five fabulous pairs. Once on location, the Warby Parker glasses instantly became the must-have accessory on the shoot.
When Katie, our blonde Prom model, slipped on the Benson style glasses she went right to the head of the Fashion Class. The Belize Blue added drama to the beaded ball gown with sweeping A-line satin skirt and certainly made her irresistible to Prince Charming . As typical weather for summers in Missouri, the mercury climbed to 100 degrees. Under a blistering sun, sunglasses are a more than a fashion accessory. They are an absolute necessity!
We couldn't resist pairing the Chelsea frames with an elegant taupe lace
and chiffon formal ideal for the Mother of the Bride or the Mother of Groom. By matching the Grapefruit Soda color of the modern glasses with the sophisticated dress we created a strong contemporary fashion statement. Our model Chearise wanted to buy them on the spot. (Sorry, loaners must be returned!). Lindsey opted for the Madison shades in Rum Cherry when we posed a trio of models wearing our bestselling Tease Prom
dress. They looked striking as they posed outside a 150-year old shingle building. Warby Parker glasses are not for women only! Our handsome high school hunk looked like a movie star when he posed for our Homecoming campaign shot wearing Banks in Ginger Crystal. The classic shades complimented the vintage varsity jacket he wore to pose on a parked red pickup truck leading down a gravel road to the barn.
After the shoot, returning the frames to Warby Parker was a snap. Lindsey simply slipped them back into the Warby Parker box and slapped on the return label sent with the original shipment. Too bad Dorothy Parker didn't live to see for herself that girls - and guys - who wear glasses can look glam!
