When & why did you start selling formal wear?
I bought my store because my daughter bought a wedding dress from the original order. We've been selling prom and bridal since 1995.

1) Willingness to have anyone in the store and help anyone.
2) Patience to take care of anyone, meet their needs and price points
What is unique about your store?
Dresses in every size for every person. On-site alterations every day
What do you love about Sydney's Closet?
They make women's plus size prom and wedding dresses. Same quality and value as the manufacturers that do sizes 2-4.
If you were to tell one person "Thank You" for helping you become the person you are today, who would it be and what did they do?
My mother who taught me to be patient, to be understanding, and show kindness to everyone.
What characteristic do you most admire in your staff?
Willingness to have anyone in the store and help anyone.
Which Sydney's Closet dress is your all time favorite? Why?
1) SC7106 - it is different and can be for anyone
2) TE1717 - it is a two-piece gown that could be worn by any size but fit well; the plus size girls were able to get the same trend as the smaller size
Describe the biggest accomplishment so far for your business.
I have been around as long as I have and you always have the dress ready (steamed, bagged, altered) for customers, even if they purchase last minute.

Describe what a new customer could expect while visiting your store.
Greeted friendly, talk to them, ask questions, help them find the perfect dress.
What has surprised you the most about the prom industry?
I am really surprised and love that manufacturers are keeping the prices of the gowns reasonable even though there are economic changes in the world.
