Of all the amazing roles I play as President and CEO of Sydney's Closet, my favorite is being a "fashion fairy godmother". Nothing is more rewarding. Nothing makes me happier and nothing makes me more fulfilled personally and professionally. Tonight I got the chance to wave my magic wand again when I donated dreamy Prom gowns from Sydney's Closet to deserving teen-age girls at East Rockaway High School. Their school was so devastated by Superstorm Sandy they feared they wouldn't even have a Prom. They all looked amazing! Gabriella was strikingly pretty in Ingenue, our blush chiffon halter Prom gown with sweeping skirt. Angelina looked and felt like a Prom Princess wearing our Pistachio tulle ball gown. Maiya made a dramatic entrance in "The Duchess", our black and white tulle ball gown with beaded lace waistband. Ashley had fun on and off the dance floor in our playful print evening gown we named "Ballet of Bubbles". Melanie struck a sophisticated look in our classic one-shoulder satin evening formal. "My Fair Wedding" host David Tutera turned a castle-like mansion overlooking Long Island Sound into a Midsummer Night's Dream fairyland. Aerial bartenders served drinks - non-alcoholic - from ceiling perches. The biggest surprise of the night: Glee's Darren Criss and American Idol's Jordin Sparks performed for the crowd!
